Nick Karakulko is the senior director, infrastructure and strategic accounts for Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division. For almost three decades, he has focused on how technology can help solve business and security challenges. For 16 years, that focus has been on the application of security-focused technology, mainly video management software (VMS) and physical security information management (PSIM).
Nick has helped develop unique solutions including the remote management of offshore oil platforms in response to the Deepwater Horizon incident, the implementation of safe city/country solutions in the CALA region and the introduction of complex event processing concepts and data analytics solutions in security operations. For many years he was involved in deployment of advanced security solutions at the Port of Corpus Christi, Port of Houston, Houston Ship Channel Security District and the Port of Miami.
He has served in a leadership capacity for the Houston ASIS chapter since 2012 and holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from the University of Houston.
