Olivier Baas leads Villari’s mission to revolutionize steel structure maintenance and safety through certified crack detection technology, creating the future of structural health monitoring. We empower ports, infrastructure, and steel plants with permanently installed, wireless sensors that identify even the smallest fatigue cracks through magnetic field variations. Villari’s journey began during his Ph.D. research at Delft University of Technology, where he led the CrackGuard project to tackle fatigue monitoring in critical offshore structures. Today, Villari serves clients like Tata Steel and Rijkswaterstaat, deploying over 1,300 sensors across seven countries, securing the longevity of steel structures worldwide.
